The question was   whether this water supply tunnel was the first of its kind in Trippstadt ?

In approx. 1730 –1735 Ludwig Anton Baron von Hacke, official gamekeeper, most probably had the first locally situated water tunnel and waterway  constructed.

The upper well ( Obere Brunnen ( Hauptsstr.98 ) and the Hirschbrunnen ( Hauptstr. 72) were connected to this first water main. This first water supply system built in a Roman manner with a flow of 1.5 lt. /sec. was perfected.

Water supply was necessary because of the industrialization  and the iron industry, as well as the increase in population.
